What is Tree Equity?
The Urban Reforestation Project is dedicated to planting and donating trees to underprivileged communities in Miami. Our mission is to create green spaces and promote environmental sustainability. We aim to address the issue of tree inequality. Tree inequality is prevalent in many communities but most common in underprivileged communities. This means that while less wealthy neighborhoods lack trees, wealthy ones do not. Our mission is to change that.

Create Change in Your Community
Planting native trees is a powerful way to foster positive change in our communities.
These trees provide essential habitats local wildlife, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to cleaner air and water.
By creating green spaces, we encourage community engagement and promote outdoor activities, which can lead to healthier lifestyles.

Help Yourself and the Planet
Planting trees is a selfless act, but that doesn't mean it doesn't benefit you. The shade that trees generate helps to cool down homes and reduce cooling costs. It also helps attract the furry creatures and birds we love to see!
Help Make Miami a Greener Place
In 2006, Miami-Dade County set the ambitious goal of achieving 30% canopy coverage by 2030. Since then, the county has made a lot of progress, but only 19% of the county remains forested.
To achieve such an ambitious goal, we cannot simply depend on the government. Every Miami resident needs to do their part and that starts with us.
